Tower Hill Bridge and Big Ben
Tower Hill Bridge and Big Ben in London is the tallest and is the only bridge which opens to allow large vessels to pass underneath it in Thames River. Big Ben is not actually the clock tower. Big Ben is the bell inside the tower. The tower is called Westminster Tower. Big Ben is synonymous as the Great Bell, the Clock and the Tower in which it is encased. Big Ben is actually named after Sir Benjamin Hall.
Tower Bridge was completed in 1894 which spans the river Thames and is the only bridge across the Thames which can be raised to allow large ships to pass underneath it. The original Victorian mechanism can still be seen in working condition in the bridge's museum. The London Bridge is quite distinctive with two tall towers at each end and is situated next to the Tower of London from where it got its name.
